Name: Statuette of Sokrates

Description: Type B (Richter). From Alexandria. London, British Museum. H. 0.27m. A head similar (if not identical) to that of the bust (Item # 50) atop a wide, chunky body draped in a heavy mantle around the waist and around the left shoulder, which supports the weight of the cloth. The right arm hangs down, his hand clasping at the edge of the mantle. The right leg can be glimpsed beneath the material.
