Classical Literature classes at Edinburgh involve the study of major works of classical literature in translation. The study of epic and lyric poetry, prose, and drama offer insights into the cultures of Classical antiquity.

 

You have access to the great and influential literatures of Greece and Rome, and you will be able to read widely and rapidly. You may even be inspired to go on to acquire the languages later. In these courses no previous knowledge of the ancient world is assumed.

Year 1:  Choice from: The Greek World 1a; The Roman World 1a; The Greek World 2b; The Roman World 2b.
