How to Apply.
For admission to postgraduate study,
applicants are usually expected to
hold (or to be in the process of completing)
an undergraduate degree with good
grades, equivalent to an honours degree
at upper second class (2.1) level
from a UK university, usually in a
discipline related to the proposed
area of study.
The School of History and Classics
will accept applications throughout
the year, but 31 March is the deadline
if you intend to apply for funding
from the ESRC and AHRB (EU applicants
only) or from the School of History
and Classics.
Candidates who intend to apply for
an ORSAS award (overseas applicants
only) or one of the scholarships offered
by the College of Humanities and Social
Science must bear in mind the deadline
for these awards is 1st March 2007.
They should therefore submit their
application for study as early as
possible in 2007 to allow for processing,
and allow four weeks between applying
for funding.
All applications should be submitted
to the College Office. Applicants
will be advised of the outcome of
their application as soon as possible.
The majority of successful applicants
receive a "conditional offer" in the
first instance; once the conditions
have been met, applicants are sent
an unconditional offer. Joining instructions,
giving details of various induction
programmes and events, are sent out
some weeks prior to the start of studies
- during the summer for most entrants.
